The Way

Old City Jerusalem

Jesus came to this world over two thousand years ago.  He came, not to be served, but to serve and to fulfill God's Word.  He suffered and died on a Cross for our sins, substituting Himself for us, the righteous for the unrighteous, that He might bring us to God.  The Good News is that He rose again from the dead, defeating death and offering us the way to salvation.  The temporary material possessions and pleasures of this world and this short life cannot save us.  Neither can our own efforts save us.   Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." (John 14:6).  God's Word tells us that, "if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." (Romans 10:9).

You may pray this prayer to call upon Him and to ask Him for forgiveness and the gift of eternal life.  Remember that it is not the reciting of a prayer that saves, but the act of trusting in the Lord for your salvation. After you pray, we encourage you to turn to His Word (you may find a modern translation like the NKJV easier to follow) and find a bible-believing church to continue your journey.

"Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and that I cannot save myself through my own efforts.  Please forgive me, Lord Jesus.  I am sorry for my sins and I turn away from them and invite you to come into my heart.  I believe Lord Jesus that you are the Son of God and that you died on the Cross for my sins and rose again from the dead.  Thank you Lord Jesus for taking away my sins and for the free gift of eternal life.  I accept you and trust in you as my Lord and Saviour."
